Former Old Edwardians striker from Nigeria, Philip Oluwaseun Aremu has signed a year-long deal with Oman’s Premier League champions, Dhofar FC after an impressive two match trials with the club.
The Nigerian born who last season scored a goal in his debut for the May Park Boys travelled to the Far East club just after playing two matches for the club this season.
According to a close pal of the striker and FIFA agent, Chernor Musa Jalloh, the tall and skillful player has joined the Mid East club on a year’s deal for an undisclosed fee.
Jalloh said the striker move was a good one especially with the form that he is currently in.
“I had a request from the club for a striker and Aremu was in good shape for the move and after a two matches trials and scoring a goal he was able to catch the eyes of the technical team,” Jalloh says he hopes the striker will score more goals when the season starts.
Dhofar is the most successful club in the Omani League, with a total of nine championships trophies, and seven Sultan Qaboos Cups to its name, as well as reaching the final 12 times.
